A promising summer harvest for Spanish tourism

The summer of 2021 was a turning point for both national and international tourism. This summer has been the first with more relaxed restrictions, and even practically non-existent, except for the use of face masks and the limitation of capacity and opening hours in hotels and restaurants. This has been possible thanks to mass vaccination, rapid tests, and the digital Covid passport.

These are three of the key reasons why Spanish tourism has been able to revive, according to a report by CaixaBank Research.

The report, which is very encouraging for the sector, stresses that "The situation of the tourism sector has improved very significantly during the summer months and has exceeded the forecasts of many of the companies in the sector".
